Services

Special Services Cooperative of Jefferson County provides a wide variety of services to the students, families, teachers, and school districts within member districts.  These services include, but are not limited to the following:

• Identification of children with special needs

• Diagnostic evaluations

• Program planning

• Coordination of self-contained classrooms

• Consulting

• Staff development

• Instructional programs

• Public awarenss programs

The diagnostic team of Special Services Cooperative is one of the best diagnostic teams existing in any program of similar size in Missouri and/or surrounding states.  The CoOp's diagnostic team consists of the following professionals:

• Speech & Language Specialists

• A School Psychologist

• A Social Worker

• Educational Diagnosticians

• An Audiologist

• Early Childhood Special Education Diagnosticians

• Physical Therapists

• A Vision Specialist

The team gathers information on each child referred by the local school districts for services.  When necessary, additional testing is performed by the CoOp staff.  Parents play an integral role in the referral, diagnostic evaluation, and educational program planning for their children.  Close communication among the referring school district, parents, and diagnostic staff is maintained throughout the entire evaluation process.
